  • From the hilltop & Gadi historical sight, we can enjoy the mountain sunrise and sunset view including 8000 meter Himalayas: Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Manaslu and Ganesh Himal. People of Chepang culture have their own customs beliefs and language. People live their life by hunting, fishing & gathering jungle products.

Chepang hill Trek is the one which is created on the basis of sustainability and providing you both the experience of sightseeing and cultural trek. Chepang are the ethnic people of Chitwan. This trek is unique for the presence of Chepang culture which is one of the rare cultures. They have their own language, tradition, culture, lifestyle and own farming style. They live in the jungle doing hunting and cultivation for foods. During the trek beside Chepang ethnicity, you can also see ethnicities like Magar, Gurung, Danuwar, Tamang, Kumal, Tharu and many others. Bird watching and its cultural uniqueness with other natural attractions add excitement to the Chepang Hill Trekking.
 
Thus, from this trek, we can analyze and observe the living way of isolated jungle people. As the region and people are behind the development process, Chepang Hill Trekking is designed with an aspect of improving the lifestyle of Chepang people through exploring their most ethnic culture.
 
 The Chepang Trekking begins from the Mahabharat range and through the unexplored but beautiful hillside where we can encounter semi-nomadic people Known as “Chepang”. For the short and similar trip, you can do Chitwan national park wildlife safari. Their lifestyle and culture are distinctive from the other. They are also among the least developed citizens with the least services reached. This trekking is also for awarding this ethnicity and increases their income level. The sunrise view from Sira-Chuli is spectacular along the different Himalayan ranges. With the cool environment and opportunity for bird watching, this trek is readymade in nature and is for everyone to enjoy.

Itinerary

Welcome to Kathmandu, our Sunrise Adventure Trek airport representative will welcome you at airport and transfer you to your hotel. Then in evening we will give you shortly brief and further details of the trip program.

Second day of the program is succeeded with sightseeing around Kathmandu along with the trek preparation at the end of the day. Sightseeing includes tour around Swayambhunath (monkey temple), Bauddhanath (Buddhastupa), Pashupatinath/Biggest Hindu Temple & Patan Durbar Square. All of this ancient monuments created in different styles offers you breathtaking moments of your life through its amazing statues, paintings and historical crafts inside the buildings. Meals included: Breakfast and finally an overnight stay in hotel.

From Kathmandu we take a bus to reach Hiundi and it takes nearly 3 to 4 hours. After completing the bus journey we start our trek to Hattibang for around 5 hours with witness to the beautiful art of nature. You can see mountain peaks like Rolwaling, Gaurishankar, Langtang, Gorkha Himal, Peak 29, Himalchuli, Manaslu, the Annapurnas, Dhaulagiri and others throughout the trekking period. Besides this you can get an opportunity to explore the Hiundi Bazzar in rest of the time at evening, where the people from the unique cultures especially from Magar, Chepang and Giripuri living their life in different traditional ways make your trip worth visiting to Hattibang. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

This is the moderate to strenuous trek and one of the best picturesque places as well. First we hike to Serai Chuli for another exciting experience then we trek to Chepang Gaun which includes the villages of Chepang’s culture. Passing through those small settlements having the stunning mountainous scenery beside us is amazing along with views of Trishuli River flowing below the mountains. Our overnight stay is in here. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

Before having the breakfast we take some rest today and make further trekking. As we will be resting in a beautiful village named as Chepang Gaun (Chepang Village) we get a great chance to observe the local lifestyles of people along with beautiful green sceneries and traditions. We can dig further information of this village by exploring the whole place and another night is going to be in here. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

Following the itinerary we will be heading toward Upper Dhangadi. Trek to Upper Dhangadi takes us through the paths of many ups and downs, also containing the amazing surroundings. Walking through the dense forests having more than 300 different species of bird additionally increase the excitement of trip. Along with this we get a chance to observe those several various species of birds. The animals get to see in this region is also considered as very rare species. We will be leaving beautiful hilly landscape for another overnight stay at Upper Dang Gadi. This all takes at about 6 to 7 hours for trekking. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in trekking lodge.

Now is the time to leave Upper Dang Gadi and take our trip to Chitwan. Chitwan, also known as the famous touristic destination in Nepal. Chitwan is a National Park with many endangered species and is especially known for Jungle Safari over the Elephant along with other interesting adventures. Here we get a chance to experience those moments. Overnight Stay in Chitwan. Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner and finally an overnight stay in hotel.

From the area filled with nature and its creation we trek back to Kathmandu where you can enjoy your leisure day after arrival. Roaming around Thamel or shopping souvenirs in Kathmandu. Meals included: Breakfast, and dinner and finally an overnight stay in hotel.

  • Trekking Group Size

    We organize trekking in Chitwan region for any number of people. If the group consists of more than 16 pax, we will split the group and arrange accordingly. We will assign one trek leader, one assistant leader for the group of four pax and porters (one porter between two members ) to carry members luggage. This arrangement ensures that the group can still go ahead as scheduled itinerary despite any member gets sick on the way in the trekking.
  • Experience and Health Requirements

    Chepang Hill trekking is considered a moderate trek suitable for those who can hike for 5 – 7 hours a day. Obviously hiking is not easy but certainly is doable. However, our itinerary is scheduled for the proper acclimatization while gradually gaining the altitude in the trekking. It will be advisable to have some walking and hiking or other outdoor activities beforehand which will contribute to comfortable accomplishment in reaching Chepang Hill. No technical skills or use of crampons are required for this trekking. It is highly recommended for the trekkers to consult with the doctors before coming for this trekking. Trekkers who have asthma, allergy or any other diseases related to hurt, lungs should take more precaution for this trekking.
  • Travel Insurance

    Trekkers need to have traveling insurance which covers the comprehensive expenses that might incur due to medical issues or accidents (this includes air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and medical treatment costs). Insurance companies in Nepal do not provide travelling insurance for the foreigners and the trekkers need to get the travelling insurance from one of the international insurance companies. Sunrise Adventure Trek will have accident insurance for the trekking staff.
  • Accommodations

    Accommodation in Kathmandu will be arranged on twin sharing basis on BB plan except the extra cost for the single supplement (depending on the room availability ) according to the choice of the standard of the hotels before and after the trekking. Accommodation during the trekking in Chepang Hill is done in Camping because this route is not that famous. The trekkers will have to share washing and toilet facilities. If the trekker is a solo traveler, he/she will have to share a room with the trekker of same sex.
  • Meals

    Trekkers are provided three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during Chepang Hill trekking. They can enjoy wide variety of food from typical Nepali food,Tibetan food to all types of international cuisine (Continental, Italian, and Indian.). Unlike other trekking companies, Sunrise AdventureTrek allows trekkers to choose the food from the menu at the hotel / lodges in the trek if they are available in route, because least famous like Chepang Hill do not offer selective menus. When the group is too big for the hotels/ lodges to provide individual dishes, set menu will be arranged in most places. We use the lodges / hotels which serve hygienic, nutritious and good food for the trekkers for them to get enough energy for the hiking.
  • Acclimatization

    Any trekker can get altitude sickness while trekking in the high altitude despite strong physically fitness. What is important is giving enough time for the proper acclimatization for the trekking. Sunrise Adventure Trek has planned the itinerary with gradual altitude gain giving enough time for acclimatization for the trekkers. Hiking slowly specially in the high altitude help prevent AMS ( Acute Mountain Sickness ). If anyone feels dizzy, suffer palpitation or severe headaches and loss of appetite, he / she will be moved to the lower altitude immediately or arrange the helicopter rescue in the severe case of AMS and the client has to pay for it.

    A variety of clothing is necessary for the Chepang Hill trek in winter season. While choosing the equipment trekkers need give emphasis on two simple aspects: Lightweight and Functional. The items should be lightweight, dependable, and adaptable to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The quality of the trekking equipment you choose has a lot to do with how warm, dry, and safe you will remain. For this reason you have to be critical of quality and the proper fit of clothing

  • Porter Care

    We are strongly committed to the porters rights. We make sure that they are well paid and have the proper clothing, foot ware and shelter. We are aware that no porter should be asked to carry a load that is too heavy for their physical abilities and the weight limit should be adjusted for altitude, weather and trail condition. We request our members not to have more than 15 kg weight of luggage to give to the porters. Porters who become sick while in the trekking are treated with high priority just like the other trekking staff or the members. If needed helicopter is sent and rescued in case of sever condition of sickness or accident. All porters are insured for sickness and accident.
  • Best Season

    Nepal, as a tourist destination is good for all seasons, however, the best seasons for trekking to Chitwan region are Spring (March – May) and Autumn (mid Sept. – mid Dec. ). Trekking in autumn season is noted for clear weather and excellent views of silvery mountains against blue sky. It gets colder towards the end of December. This trek can be done in any month while January is least favoured.
