Rara Lake
Rara lake is the deepest and largest lake with freshwater of Nepal. This lake is also known as “The Queen of Lake”. It is surrounded by lush green forest and snow-capped mountains range, located in the Jumla and Mugu district in the far-western of Nepal. This lake is extended up to 10.8sq.km in Karnali zone at an altitude of 2990 m from the sea level. the depth of the lake is 167 meters with 5.1 km long and 2.7km wide. This lake is the best destination for tourist because Rara National Park which is also the home of different species of wildlife such as aquatics animals, birds many flora and fauna.
Considering the climate of this lake summer is quite pleasant but winter is cold. Rara Lake trek is also the popular destination with the rough route in western Nepal for trekkers. This place has a quite different culture and scenery from rest Nepal. From there you get the chance view of snow-capped Himalayan peaks and many more.
Tilicho Lake
Tilicho Lake is the highest lake in the Himalayan region. It is located in Manang district at an altitude of 4919 meters. Tilicho Lake lies 55 km away from Pokhara and is surrounded by, Muktinath peaks, Khangsar, Tlicho peaks, and Nilgiri. This lake holds an important belief of both Hindu and Buddhists. This lake is also the most popular destination for hiking in Annapurna Circuit Trek.
While heading to Tilicho lake trek starts from Besisahar as Annapurna circuit trek, which goes along the Marshyangdi River.While taking trek you would get the chance to observe the beautiful Manang village and ethnic culture which is influenced by the Tibetan culture. There is also the ancient Buddhist monastery which is very best for tourists.
Phewa Lake
Phewa Lake is the second largest lake of Nepal, located in Pokhara Valley at an altitude of 742. It length is4.8km and 1km wide and has the total area of 4sq. km. This lake is 28 km away from the Annapurna Mountain Range. This lake is the central attraction for visitors in Pokhara. This lake is also famous for boating for tourists.
There is also a Tabarahi Temple (Hindu Temple) on the center of the lake called as Barahi Mandir. From there great views of Manaslu and Himal Chuli to the east can be seen.
Shey Phoksundo Lake
Shey Phoksundo Lake is a fresh alpine water lake, located in Dolpa district of Karnali zone in the lap of Kanjirowa Mountain. This lake covers 1.91sq. km and stand at 3900m above sea level. Shey-Phoksundo National Park also situated here. In the eastern side of the lake, there is one jump and in the southern belts, it has more than 20 stupas. So is also the best destination for tourist.
Many trekking trails is there through this lake, that Dolpo region trekking takes you to visit different monasteries located in this area such as the mystical Chhandul Gompa, Doro Gompa, Ribo Gompa, Serin Gompa, Meryem Gompa, and Shipchok Gompa. Gosainkundo Lake
Gosainkundo Lake is the holy and pilgrimage sites for Buddhist and Hindu. It is stated as Lord Shivas Lake. There is also belief regarding this lake that once you take a bath in this holy lake, all the pain and sins were washed off. This Lake is the best destination for short trekking.it is located in Rasuwa district with the altitude of 4,380m.

Gokyo Lake

Panch Pokhari lake
Panch Pohari is also the holiest lake of Nepal. This lake is called Panch Pokhari because this Pokhari has five ponds. This lake is located in Sindhupalchowk district of Nepal with the altitude of 4,100m above the sea level. People celebrate Janai Purnima bathing in this lake. Here you can do trekking for 5 days from Chautara to Panch Pokhari. After visiting there you will feel very better.
