1. When should I book my peak climb?
Nepal has mainly four seasons: spring, monsoon, autumn, and winter season. You can book any time of the year but especially you can book your climbing in spring and autumn which is the best time of the year for any mountaineering.
So you can book better in advance and at least 7 days a week booking your normal trip is well managed. However, while you want to do a high expedition above 7000m and 8000 meters, better can book a year till a minimum of 3 months in advance.
2. Do I need previous experience of peak climbing?
Previous experience of trekking and climbing is well supported by your peak climbing and mountaineering trip. However your physical and mental fitness, skillful training can obviously help with your expeditions and peak climbing. Your past experience of above 6000-meter climbing obviously, helps to 7000-meter and 8000-meter peak climbing.
Who will be my climbing guide?
All the climbing guides from Sunrise Adventure treks are local expert Sherpa and guides from Nepal. All our guides are well trained and have government-trained license holders. Most of our guides have already summited the world's tallest peak Mount Everest (8848 m) and 8000-meter peaks many times. Therefore our guides are well equipped with mental and physical fitness for climbing. So all our climbing members are well concerned about safety.
4. How hard/difficult is peak climbing in Nepal?
Normally, peak climbing is a hard task for the average person. Peak climbing is difficult on the basis of climbing sections and the altitudes of the Himalayas. We have easy, technical, and challenging peak climbing and mountaineering in Nepal. So climbing difficult is depends on your physical and mental fit, although, your previous training quite matters. Nevertheless, the difficulty of climbing is also depends on your Sherpa guides and climbing crew.
5. How long does it take to complete trekking peak and mountaineering?
The accomplishment of peak climbing depends on altitude and difficulty level. Normally trekking peak climbing will take 2/ 3 days to the summit from Base camp and mountaineering will take 20 days till 60 days to summit. Not only that climbing depends on your physical and mental fit and past experience of climbing will take shorten the time for any trek peak climbing and mountaineering.
6. Do I need a special guide for climbing?
You should need a guide for climbing and expeditions. We will arrange your guide's lodging and flooding with the climbing package. Without authorizing trekking companies and guides, you aren't allowed to peak climbing. Authorize guides and Sherpa aloud to assist your peak climbing. Normally one Sherpa guide will assist 2/3 clients with peak climbing. Even though, you can take the special guide from the company, you need to pay extra.
7. Can I buy trekking or climbing gear in Kathmandu?
Obviously, you can buy and hire trekking and climbing gear in Kathmandu. You can also get branded shops in-store in Kathmandu. However, can buy/ hire trekking and climbing gear in trekking shops around Thamel. Nevertheless, we can also provide you with sleeping bags and down jackets during your trekking/ climbing in Nepal. If you want to use it for future plan can buy your own gear if not use for future plan can rent those items easily around trekking shops in Thamel.
8. What is the best season for trekking, climbing/ mountaineering?
Spring (March April and May) and autumn September October and November are the best seasons for trekking, climbing/ mountaineering in Nepal. Spring and autumn are wrathful for trekking and climbing in the Himalayas having the best weather and blue sky. Although people can also enjoy trekking/climbing in winter December, January, and February but need to faced extreme coldness and snowfalls. Monsoon is the rainy season so it’s heavy rainfalls and not good visibility, cloudy and mist around the Himalayas.
9. What are documents do I need for trekking and mountain climbing in Nepal?
You should need a trekking and TIMS card and trekking permits before going trekking in Nepal. While you go peak climbing/ and expeditions in Nepal have to need proper documents from the Nepal government and trekking company. Thus all about your climbing documents will arrange by Sunrise Adventure trek before departure your trip. You need to have a national park permit, climbing permits, NMA permits climbing insurance. respectively.
10. How about accommodations for trekking and expeditions?
You can overnight in tea houses and lodges accordingly. You will have better comfortable accommodate in the trek. Nevertheless, while you go for mountain expeditions need to stay in a tented camp. You will have a separate tent-like dining tent, Kitchen tent, and sleeping tent. Normally 1 tent for 2 clients.
11. What about meals and drinks during trekking and peak climbing is it hygienic?
You will overnight stay in the tea house and have meals accordingly breakfast, Lunch, and dinner in hotels and restaurants respectively on the trek. All meals and drinks are served from tea house and restaurant as well as have different cousins of meals and beverage. Nevertheless, while you are climbing will have shortened types of meals and drinks are available. All meals and are well cooked and neat and clean with hygienic meals we serve. We provide fresh fruits, vegetables, and well cook food for you from the cook. You don’t have varieties of foods and drinks during climbing. You can also bring your own snacks like chocolate, dry fruits, and energy foods. Mostly you will have boiled water for drinks during peak climbing.
12. What sort of clothing and gear do I need for trekking/ climbing?
You should have better warm clothes and reliable gear is most significant to your trip. You need to checklist your trekking/ climbing gears on the basis of your hiking/ and mountaineering routes and altitudes.
13. What about the communications during trekking/ climbing?
You will have WIFI available in the teahouse and you can use your mobile phone to contact us as well as your family and friends during hiking. Communications are available via guide and porter during trekking/ climbing. We will also have to arrange an extra satellite phone to contact in case of an emergency.
14. How about safety arrangements during trekking and climbing?
Safety arrangements of the trip are our prime concern. Our guides are well experienced in altitudes sickness. Despite we do have our own first aid kits for the group. So our guides are precautions about safety. While there is anything emergency that happens, we will apply first aid and descend for the acclimatization. Even though while you have insurance, we will arrange quick helicopter evacuations.
15. What about tips to the trekking and climbing crew?
Tipping is the motivation part so you can give tips to the crew as you’re wise. You can give tips once you are happy with their service. You can give any amount and currency to the crew members. Tips are expected so you can hand over tips as you are appreciated. So tipping is not included in the package price you can give tip normally 10 % of your trips package.
16. How about travel insurance for trekking and climbing crew?
All our trekking and climbing crew have good travel insurance coverage. We have our own good travel insurance for our staff for high trekking and climbing. Without insurance, we do not allowed to operate any hiking or climbing so insurance is mandatory. Our staff insurance coverage includes emergency evacuation, medical and accidental coverage. Furthermore, you should have to confirm your own insurance which has to cover you all enough.
