Trip Summary

Helambu trekking is a short trek that provides a great chance to explore the beautiful flora and fauna of the Langtang region. The trek offers panoramic views of many stunning Himalayas such as the Langtang range (7246m/23772ft), Gaurishankar Himal (7134m/23405ft), Dorje Lakpa (6966m/22854ft), and Manaslu (8163m/26781ft). Experience the rich culture of the mountainous people like Sherpa and Tamang, including their distinct traditions, customs, rituals, and lifestyles.

During the trek, you can closely explore beautiful settlements, the culture of local people, and amazing wildlife such as the leopard, musk deer, spotted deer, and red panda in the beautiful bamboo and pine forests.

Helambu trekking is one of the most well-located short treks close to Kathmandu. While most of the trek is at a low altitude below 3000m, the highest point at Tharepati La pass is 3600m, where you might experience snow even during the main trekking seasons. For a longer trek, consider the Langtang Gosaikunda Helambu trek. Enjoy the charming spots like Chisapani and Tharepati for Himalayan scenery, as well as spectacular sunrise and sunset views of the Himalayas.

Similarly, you will see monasteries and different communities with a majority of Tamang, Gurung, and Sherpa people and their cultures. This trek is considered easy and offers the chance to experience the rich culture and traditions of the Nepalese villages in Helambu. Besides enjoying the surrounding Himalayas, you will have the opportunity to see green valleys, agricultural farms, and vegetation.

The trails pass through many villages, hills, and subtropical forests, involving a lot of ups and downs. We start trekking from Sundarijal up to Shivapuri hill and continue through deep forest. We then trek to Chisapani, Kutumsang, and hike up to Tharepati, the highest elevation for an overnight stay. From there, the trail descends to Sermanthang, Tarkeyghang, and Melamchi Village, from where we take transportation back to Kathmandu.

They can enjoy wide variety of food from typical Nepali food, and Tibetan food to all types of international cuisine (Continental, Italian, and Indian). Unlike other trekking companies, Sunrise Adventure Trek allows trekkers to choose the food from the menu at the hotel / lodges in the trek. We use the lodges / hotels which serve hygienic, nutritious and good food for the trekkers for them to get enough energy for the hiking.

Hiking slowly specially in the high altitude help prevent AMS ( Acute Mountain Sickness ).
